Malu obtained her Master’s of Science degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Five Branches University in San Jose, CA.  She also holds a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Psychology from Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT.  She is licensed as an acupuncturist, herbalist and primary care giver by both the State Board of California and the National Certification Commission of Alternative & Oriental Medicine.

Malu practices gentle acupuncture—using very fine needles.  She believes that comfortable and pain-free acupuncture is an essential ingredient to successful healing.  As is arming her patients with self-help tools to empower them to participate in their healing process.

Malu takes a holistic and integrative approach to health and works in concert with Western medical practitioners to provide comprehensive care to her patients.  Her specialty lies in Women’s Health, particularly issues relating to:

  • emotional wellness
  • menstrual irregularities
  • PMS
  • hormonal imbalances
  • fertility enchancement - for women & men
  • pregnancy issues
  • post-partum wellness & equilibration
  • menopause
  • pelvic pain
  • weight loss

Malu grew up in Asia, coming to the United States to attend university and making California her home in 1995.  She has lived in Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore, the United Kingdom and France.  She has also traveled extensively in South & Central America and speaks Spanish with ease.  She very much enjoys working with patients from diverse ethnic & cultural backgrounds.

As someone who experienced the challenges of fertility first-hand, Malu brings a unique perspective & understanding to her fertility enhancement practice.
